Turbocharging Simulations: Next-Generation CFD/CSM for Faster, Smarter Flow Predictions

In this HUB presentation delivered at the Exposition Hall of AIAA SciTech Forum 2026, Dr. Paul Batten, Principal Scientist at Metacomp Technologies, discusses statistical convergence, an often overlooked source of error in both steady-state RANS and scale-resolving simulations, and presents new capabilities in CFD++ that address these challenges. ▶

Metacomp at the 7th AIAA Propulsion Aerodynamics Workshop 2026

In 2026, Metacomp participated in the 7th AIAA Propulsion Aerodynamics Workshop at the AIAA SciTech Forum and Exposition in Orlando, Florida. The workshop focused on evaluating the accuracy of CFD modeling techniques for the NIFTI-LLF coupled fan–intake configuration operating under crosswind conditions. A defining feature of this setup is the ingestion of a ground vortex.

Metacomp at the NASA Thermal & Fluids Analysis Workshop (TFAWS) 2024

In 2024, Metacomp presented at the Thermal & Fluids Analysis Workshop at NASA Glenn Research Center on hypersonic aerothermodynamics modeling of two reentry flight experiments using CFD++: RAM-C II vehicle and OREX capsule.  The Radio Attenuation Measurement (RAM) program was conducted in the 1960s to study communications blackout in hypersonic reentry flows.
